Hello, and welcome.

If you’re here, you’re probably looking for support with something that’s been feeling difficult - whether that’s anxiety, stress, confidence, sleep, or a habit you’d like to change. Whatever brings you here, you’re very welcome.

My background is in mental health nursing, and I’ve spent many years working within the NHS in a variety of roles across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Yorkshire. I originally trained at the University of Manchester, where my studies combined both academic learning and hands-on experience, which gave me a really solid grounding in understanding how people think, feel, and respond during challenging times.

Since then, I’ve worked in a range of settings supporting people with complex and often intense mental health needs. Early in my career, this included working in a psychiatric intensive care unit and on acute inpatient wards, where people were often at their most vulnerable. I also spent time in a home treatment team, supporting individuals in crisis in their own homes - all these experiences have really reinforced how important it is to approach each person as an individual, not just a situation or a diagnosis.

Over time, my career moved into specialising in patient safety and service improvement. I have experience of managing a busy acute ward in North Yorkshire and have worked as a Patient Safety Investigator across several NHS trusts, both in Yorkshire and in Lancashire. These roles have given me a deep understanding of how important it is for people to feel safe, respected, and properly supported when they reach out for help. They’ve also shaped the way I work - thoughtful, ethical, and always focused on doing what’s right for the person in front of me.

All of this experience naturally led me to hypnotherapy. It allows me to work in a more focused, one-to-one way, helping people make positive changes in a calm, supportive environment. As an important part of this journey, I'm completing externally accredited training in solution-focused hypnotherapy - ensuring that when Asclepieia Hypnotherapy and Wellness opens in autumn 2026, the clinic will operate to the highest professional standards.

I bring with me not just therapeutic techniques, but years of experience working with people in distress, managing risk, and holding a safe space for change. My aim is always to offer a service that feels professional but also genuinely human - somewhere you can feel at ease, listened to, and supported without judgement.

If you decide to work with me, which I hope you do, we’ll take things at your pace and focus on what matters most to you.

Outside of work, I live in Skipton with my wife, Jennie, and our two children. Home life is busy, often noisy, and a good reminder of the importance of balance and switching off. We also have a cat called Willow and a dog called Blue, who do their best to keep things interesting. It's the everyday, ordinary moments at home that keep me ground and bring a real sense of perspective to the work I do.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about me that I have not answered here.
